One of the things I love about Paula O'Hara's work is that it perfectly balances a beautiful, editorial feel with emotion and a connection with her subjects. It's a rare skill to be able to create beautiful images with such soul. Paula's SNAP workshop is called 'Tread Softly' and this perfectly describes the feeling that her images invoke.
Paula found her way to wedding photography after working as a designer on a bridal magazine. She started taking pictures following the birth of her children and she started getting photographic commissions after staff at the magazine spotted her work.
One of the things we love about all of our SNAP speakers is their passion for their craft and Paula is no exception. In her own words "with photography I felt something more than I ever felt as a designer, a fulfilment, a bliss, a heart-racing need. The fire was sparked and it was deep within my soul".
Paula is based in Ireland Northern Ireland, where she lives with her husband and children. She loves tea from the pot, Nutella, good books, big hugs, old photographs, fresh blooms and long rambles in wild places.
In 2013 Paula was named one of Rangefinder Magazine's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography and her work is regularly published in magazines and on international blogs.
We can't wait to welcome Paula to the Fforest.
